ABOUT US

Coach Chett is a throws enthusiast and a very successful thrower. Chett started his throwing career at the age of 15 as a sophomore at Century High School, despite starting as a high jumper a year earlier. Once he started throwing, Chett was hooked and eager to learn how to throw far. So, he became a student of throwing and taught himself the rotational throws. However, Chett's career skyrocketed when he got private coaching (forever grateful to Coach Nick). In his senior year, Chett was the indoor county, regional, and state champion in the shot put, the all-time Carroll County record holder, and qualified for New Balance Indoor Nationals. As a result, Chett was named Carroll County Times' Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Unfortunately, his high school career, like many other athletes, was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chett took his throwing to the next level at McDaniel College where he won several championships, broke records, and was a significant contributor to a historical Green Terror track and field team.​

Coach Chett graduated magna cum laude from McDaniel College with a B.A. in Kinesiology and a minor in Sports Coaching in 2024. He will be graduating from McDaniel again in 2026 with an M.S. in Kinesiology, Sport Management concentration. Additionally, Chett is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Coach Chett is eager to help throwers unlock their potential and unleash their inner champion.
